One of the newest innovations to hit the UK home improvement market is the Zip Screen. Already these are proving extremely popular across the rest of Europe and this popularity is rising at a rapid rate.

Zip Screens are an external blind that rolls into a discreet cassette. The fabric used is specially designed to reflect the majority of the heat and harmful rays from the sun whilst not blocking light. Being the blinds are installed externally, the heat is stopped before it even hits the glass of your window or door. The screens are an ideal solution for stopping sun damage to furnishings as well as keeping your home cool. One of the huge benefits is that you can still see the outside world through the Zip Screen so it does not even restrict your view.

Sun Screens have been around for many years both throughout Europe and the UK market. They have been found to work extremely effectively at reducing hear and stopping damage to furnishings. Unfortuantely these screens had limitation such as not being able to use them in any strong wind and also gaps down the sides that still let in sunlight.

The Zip Screen is the ideal solution as it does not have these limitations that the old screens suffered. As you would imagine from the name, the Zip Screen actually zips itself to the guide channels as it lowers. This created a strong seal that allows you to use the screen in much higher wind conditions as well as stopping 100% of unwanted sunlight from getting through.

Not only is it possible for you to use a Zip Screen over a window or door, it is also possible to incorporate them into the sides and fronts of verandas or other outdoor structures. This will allow your outdoor area to also be protected from heat and glare but in addition to this creates a private area that is wind resistant and prevents unwanted bugs from getting to you!

Zip Screens are generally electrically operated and controlled via a remote control. This allows you to easily lower or raise the screen whenever you desire. Using sun and wind automation you can keep your home cool and your furniture protected even whilst you are not at home.

When you are not using the Zip Screen they are retracted back into a small 10cm square cassette that is colour matched to fit your property. You would not know the screens are there until you press that button which will almost certainly be the envy of your neighbours!
